Welcome Brittani Richards, our North Texas Dancers DIRECTOR!
We were lucky to have a lot of amazing talent in the applicant pool. Many had professional dance experience, many had competitive collegiate coaching experience, and some had both. Our vetting process was thorough, including resume review, phone interviews, campus interviews, and performance/competition video reviews. It included feedback from a number of sources, including the team, NT Cheer, Mean Green Brigade, Athletics, and Student Affairs. In the end, we did our best to hire the person we felt was the best fit for the program.
Brittani is coming to us from Florida State University, where she was the head dance coach for 3 years. She has served as an instructor for the National Dance Alliance (NDA), and is an accredited national judge for both NDA and the Universal Dance Association (UDA). She has danced professionally, including for the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue. She has over 6 years of post-collegiate dance and coaching experience.
Brittani states, "I am so excited to continue sharing my passion and purpose through dance as the new North Texas Dancers Director. The University of North Texas has such a wide diversity of students that truly illustrates the fundamental values of the university and is reflected within its spirit programs. The North Texas Dancers are one of the most distinguished collegiate dance teams in the nation and I cannot wait to continue the strong legacy of the program!"
We are very excited to welcome her to the UNT and NTD family!
